ALIM Web Help

To Register Documents Manually

Follow these steps to register documents manually.

Note: This task requires that you have already synchronized the monitored folder to create the document list, and that the document(s) in that folder were not automatically registered as part of the synchronization.
  1. In the ProjectWise navigation tree, select the folder that you want to synchronize, and then from the Object menu, select Register to AssetWise. The Register in AssetWise dialog appears.
  2. Do one of the following:

Select Move and then click Register.

The file that was attached to the original document is moved into the AssetWise ALIM community, added to the registered document, and appears in the Files topic.
Important: When moving a file from ProjectWise, only the latest version is moved. All previous versions are removed (permanently deleted) from ProjectWise.

The document now contains two new topics: Files, which contains a hyperlink to the original file in ProjectWise, and ProjectWise Locations, which includes a hyperlink to the corresponding file path in ProjectWise.

If attribute mapping was applied to the folder, attributes will also be updated.

Tip: You can also click the document link in the ProjectWise Locations topic. For example,
